Enterprise AI is ungoverned, unmeasured, and unsustainable.

Organisations are adopting generative AI rapidly, but without visibility into cost, quality, compliance, or environmental impact. Most enterprises have no control plane between their people and AI providers.

Rising Costs

AI inference costs are escalating unpredictably. Without visibility into usage patterns, model selection, or prompt efficiency, budgets spiral. Organisations pay for redundant queries and suboptimal model choices.

Prompt Inefficiency

Users typically need 3-8 re-prompts to get a useful response. That is 60-80% wasted inference. Without prompt enrichment and intent detection, most AI interactions are costly and frustrating.

Data Leakage

Sensitive data flows to external AI providers without policy enforcement. No filtering, no classification, no audit trail. Compliance teams have zero visibility into what is being sent where.

Unmeasured Impact

The environmental cost of AI inference is invisible. No carbon tracking, no energy measurement, no sustainability reporting. Organisations cannot manage what they cannot measure.

Architecture

The GIGI Stack: seven layers of AI governance.

GIGI sits between users and AI providers as a unified control plane. Seven architectural layers work together to enrich prompts, cache responses, route to optimal models, coordinate agents, enforce governance, and measure everything.

"Every AI transaction should be governed, measured, and optimised. GIGI makes that possible without locking organisations into a single provider or slowing down their teams."
Christopher Dean — Project Leader, GIGI
01
Unified User Interface

Provider-Agnostic UI

A single interface for all AI interactions, designed for both expert and lay users. Switch models, compare outputs, and manage conversations without switching between provider platforms.

02
Prompt Enrichment Layer

Intent Detection, RAG & Policy Filtering

Detects user intent, enriches prompts with organisational context via retrieval-augmented generation and graph reasoning, and filters content against data classification policies before it reaches any provider.

03
Semantic Cache Layer

Exact & Semantic Response Matching

Caches prior responses using both exact and semantic matching. When a similar query has been answered before, GIGI reuses the cached response — eliminating redundant inference, reducing cost, and cutting latency.

04
Model Registry & Routing

Optimal Model Selection

Routes each request to the best model based on task type, cost constraints, data sensitivity classification, and carbon footprint. Supports 10+ providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source, and on-premise models.

05
Multi-Agent Coordination

Specialised Agents Working Together

Complex tasks are decomposed and assigned to specialised agents that collaborate on multi-step workflows — research, analysis, code generation, review — with governance applied at every step.

06
Governance Framework

Automated Compliance & Policy Enforcement

Enforces organisational AI policies automatically: data classification rules, usage quotas, approval workflows, human-in-the-loop gates, and full audit trails. Aligned with EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, and IEEE P7000.

07
Analytics & Impact Measurement

Cost, Carbon & Productivity Dashboards

Real-time dashboards tracking AI spend per team, per model, and per task. Carbon emissions per inference. Productivity metrics measuring right-first-time rates, re-prompt frequency, and time saved. The data enterprises need to manage AI responsibly.

Measurable targets across cost, quality, and sustainability.

GIGI is designed to deliver quantifiable improvements across five key dimensions of enterprise AI usage.

45%

Cost Reduction

Reduction in AI operational costs through caching, routing optimisation, and prompt enrichment.

85%

Right-First-Time

Right-first-time response rate, up from ~60% typical. Fewer re-prompts, faster results.

100%

Governance Coverage

Every AI transaction governed, audited, and compliant. No shadow AI, no ungoverned usage.

45%

Cache Hit Rate

Semantic and exact cache reuse, eliminating redundant inference and reducing environmental impact.

10+

Providers Supported

AI models and providers integrated, from cloud APIs to on-premise open-source deployments.

Four use cases across industry and research.

GIGI will be validated through real-world deployments across software engineering, manufacturing, financial services, and AI cost measurement.
